Bali sunrises photographed from the hotel beach

Statues such as this were outside all the hotels. A section of the statues outside the Putri Bali Hotel Statue inside the Putri Bali Hotel This monkey(?) was on one of the Nusa Dua "islands" One of the statues with the local vegetation The main statue at the front of the Putri Bali Hotel These little guys were used as lights at the edge of hotel drives

This is one of the largest temples, there are over 10000 in Bali The temples are at most 300-400 years old Balinese used to pray by going to mountains, the temples were built to be mountains and save the journey There are nine levels to the roof, indicating the 'nine' directions Labourers in the rice field harvesting, they camp in tents in the fields Bali field terrace system

The monkeys lived in the forests but have naturally moved into a village The villagers run the tourist attraction, at the end you are shown to their shops to buy fabic, toys etc These are fruit bats, there are lots of smaller bats flying around at Nusa Dua at night David Beckham and the missing link? There are three social groups of monkeys at the village and there are fights You cant pet the monkeys but they can pester you for nuts and climb on you The monkeys just hang around and get fed, they are wild but integrated into the touristy thing You feel a bit let down, yes you are seeing monkeys in the forest, buy it not exactly Charlotte Urb-thingy

Off the coast of the hotel is a large flat coral reef (old and not too pretty), it makes for great waves I really loved this part of Bali, two little "almost islands" and the Indian Ocean crashing against them Bali has active volcanos, and you can see the rock is volcanic, its quite alien, like a hot Iceland?? Here is a channel that produced that huge spray (left) And here is it when the water drains away And here's a really big spray!

Trying to get a pic of a single tree on the sand These three photos were on the two "islands" Notice the spray behind the monkey statue (rear left) Another tree. Woo yay exciting description!

Just so you know This is a picture of an old man proudly stroking his cock. This is me, adjacent to, rather than covered with, monkeys Me with a cocktail at a really shitty temple bar, yes bar, with loads of kids trying to sell identical packs of postcards for exactly the same price and made in China.
